83rd Academy Awards Nominees and Winners

 
Red carpet season has come to an end with the biggest awards of them all: the 83rd Academy Awards are complete. The favorites took home the trophies in most categories, with The King's Speech being named Best Picture. The King's Speech won 4 total awards, including Best Director for Tom Hooper and Best Actor to Colin Firth. The ceremonies were co-hosted by Anne Hathaway and James Franco, and seen by billions throughout the world.

It was also a big night for The Fighter, with Christian Bale winning Best Supporting Actor and his co-star Melissa Leo winning Best Supporting Actress. However, Leo may be best remembered down the road for dropping the F-bomb during his acceptance speech. Toy Story 3 was named Best Animated Film.
