Her first love is handsome and wayward soldier Sgt. Troy (Stamp), her second the local noble lord William Boldwood (Finch), and her third the ever-loving and long-patient farmer Gabriel Oaks (Bates). Christie is well cast as the much-desired beauty. Gorgeous cinematography by Nicolas Roeg. Remade for British TV in 1997.
