Vampires have always been a source of fascination and fear in contemporary Pop Culture. Today, Vampires have captured the hearts and minds of people around the world. In fact, these days there appears to be a Vampire frenzy engulfing all aspects of entertainment. From the readers of Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight" novels, Darren Shan’s "Cirque Du Freak" series, and the requisite films to the fantastic HBO series "True Blood", all things Vampire are definitely "In" right now.

At MovieGoods, we believed the time was right to assemble our Top 100 Best Vampire Movie Posters list to compliment and add to todays Vampire milieu. The Vampire genre was first introduced in 1922 in F.W. Murnau’s classic silent film "Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens" (Nosferatu, A Symphony of Horror"). Vampires were immortalized in the incredible 1931 film "Dracula" starring Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula in his seminal performance. One of our favorite lines spoken by Count Dracula in this masterpiece is "Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make." In later years the torch was passed to Christopher Lee, whose own performance of Count Dracula in many Hammer Films productions was great.

Hundreds of Vampire movies have since been made. Movies have portrayed vampires as evil, romantic, passionate, horrific, sexy, and even humorous. It is these driving plot lines that contributed to how the movie posters were designed and the film marketed. We looked at many aspects of the movie poster designs and have made our selections based on a number of elements - some of the critical ones were artwork, graphics, fonts, taglines, and layout. Like all movie posters, some of these designs are very artistic and stand the test of time. Some don’t. Some of the movie poster designs reflect design styles consistent with the year or era when the film released. You will see great art in some of the earlier designs and standard form for the movie posters from the '60s and '70s. Some of the designs are just awful, but that qualified them too.

What is unique with this offering of movie posters is that it is likely that many people have never seen the film itself. More importantly, is that many of these movie posters are displayed in one place for the very first time. We hope that you enjoy looking at our Top 100 list and reading about why we chose these particular movie posters. There were a number of posters that came oh-so-close to making the cut but just missed. You will find these movie posters displayed on our "Honorable Mentions" List. Let us know by taking the survey if you thought any of these movie posters should have been in the Top 100. Please leave your thoughts on the movie posters themselves in our comments section. We sincerely hope you enjoy looking at these great movie posters of the "Children of the Night!"
